I would like to share with you my latest addition to my system. Filter down or select a maximum of 50 series keys. Audirvana will load a track but it just sits without playing. The filter switch Plugincrack. Long press to turn off, short press to turn on. The latest version of the manual, including descriptions of later filters, can be found in the HQP folder. It was wonderful at the time but as I let go of Audirvana and listened to Roon exclusively I realized I had cranked-up the sparkle in an unnatural way.

I would not apply correction to anything like as high as Hz. The knob also allows you to change the input, along with the settings in the menu. Performance with conventional high-res recordings has appeal but is bettered by cheaper alternatives. It is also excellent in CD Quality.

Very High Quality. Some filter samples are put in filters subfolder. Frequently it is much better than the R-2R engine. There is no audible difference between Roon and Audirvana for these tracks. But if there is really a difference depends on the recording too. This workaround requires sending a marker byte every two bytes of DSD data. All parts and components are selected based on excellent sonic and measurements performance. The other holds a completely opposite position; that the best products can only be the result of one visionary engineer.

App – Is MQA possible? Apps – Is there alternatives to Muzo? Audio clips on specific tracks? Audio stream – Will any format work? If you’re already using Audirvana, get major upgrades new series at a preferred price. Bass delivered a little more warmth than the Measurement filter also. Felt like a rouse to get me in the site!

It’s a really Yamaha used to make a bluetooth adapter for this. I do not know if it’s still available. I’ve just plugged in my computer via USB if I want to listen to streamed music.

You can’t as far as I know. Such connectivity would be through an input device such as a mobile phone so equipped. Must say this is a fine piece of equipment. Jaws exceeded expectation But you need the YBA Bluetooth adapter. The YBA is discontinued. They are available if you search online. From what i have researched online, this answer from Charles is incorrect. Your main speakers will continue to get the full range of the audio signal. And the subwoofer will get everything 90hz and below, unless you set the crossover on your sub for less than that. Not the best way to implement things really. Yes, when you connect a sub, the amp will redirect frequencies above 90 Hz to your main speakers and frequencies below 90 to the sub.

It certainly has all the appearances of aluminum. There is a bit of surface texture that one usually finds on metal rather than plastic. The body of the amplifier is metal and the face appears to be backed by a layer of plastic which shows up at the ends of the front panel. The plastic backing likely gives rigidity to the face panel. There is a loudness knob. Which allows you to adjust. I keep it pretty low which makes the sound richer for sure. This amp. Reminds me of a high end Pre Amp I had in the 90s. It doesn’t have all the unneeded IMO sound modifications like concert, movie theatre mode etc. I have it hooked up to 2 big Cerwin Vega crate speakers from the 90s. And it powers them beautifully.

The loudness control is continuously variable not stepped from “flat” to dB. I generally set the loudness to around dB for most tracks. My floor standing 3 way’s are by no means perfectly flat reference speakers, but it is worth mentioning that in using either CD or USB with amp’s internal DAC as the source on my specific setup, that the speaker output is anything but flat with the loudness set to flat.

Very harsh sounding in the 1 Khz – 5 kHz range. Setting the loudness to around dB fixes this on most tracks. Without an RTA to properly analyze the amp’s signal output, I’m very cautious in how much I’d criticize it’s frequency response. In terms of clarity and noise; I’m satisfied with both at the amp’s price point.

Keep in mind with this specific amp, a lot of what you’re paying for is all of the various inputs, internal preamp, and internal DAC not the amp itself.

Hello: Checking into the HS7s specs for a means of bypassing the built-in bi-amp, I can find nothing to help you with doing so.

I don’t know what dangers might exist when piggybacking this amp onto these speakers, but I wouldn’t experiment.

Yamaha HS7s are active monitors they have built-in power amplification. The A-S does not have preamp outs. You could use the tape outs to feed the monitors, but [ Antonio Dec 02, ].

My guess would be yes. Check impedance specs on both speakers and amp.. Hi, I am not familiar with the Yamaha HS7’s. I would guess you could order cables that would do the trick, or make them yourself. I don’t know how the results would sound.

Short answer: it migh be possible, but it’s not natively supported. I would call crutchfield about this question? This amp only has a subwoofer output at the preamp level; I am not familiar with the speakers you mention. If they can accommodate amplifier level inputs as some older subwoofers do they might work, but if they don’t my guess would be no I’m really not sure.

I would just call the customer support number and ask them. They were extremely helpful with all my purchases. By the way I love the Yamaha amp. I don’t think so. Due to the HS7 having its own amplifier and doesn’t appear to be defeat able which would make them passive , these speakers would not be compatible. Also, the rear of the HS7 does not show traditional speaker binding posts, which is how the A-S send the audio to connected speakers.

Now, if you wanted an even more improved signal, or had a MC Moving coil cartridge , you may want to up grade with a component phono-preamp. I really can’t answer your question regarding the necessity for a phono pre-amp.

I think it would need one, but a question easily answered by a tech advisor at Crutchfield. I bought the Yamaha amp for its 4 ohms compatibility to power Buchardt 4 ohm speakers. Of course it got good reviews for the price point.

In addition, it is just an old school amp without all the home theater stuff was also a plus. I had to turn off the internal pre-amp for it to even work properly. Way too much signal. I seem to recall there was a difference – what about the DAC chip? That can make all the difference – I have the and it’s a simple but great sound producing music amp!! The DACs sound different. I think the as has a more smooth sound. The as has better dynamics and is little more exciting to listen to. Both are good though, depends what you like.

It will not handle a 2ohm load. Mine is driving a pair of Cerwin Vega AT’s at 4ohms with no problem at all. I don’t know of any home audio amps that will handle that heavy of a load. Anything lower than 4 will need a car amplifier. Can’t say about 2 ohms, but I am pushing a pair of Martin Logan Motion60’s at 4 ohms with no issues – though it is in an open cabinet.

I have been very pleasantly surprised with this amp. Simple, elegant, powerful, and easy to use. I would recomend connecting with USB.

I’ve read there can be more issues with USB out than the toslink which is out of the headphone jack. I use the toslink on my iMac and hit sounds superb going into my A-s IT’s a great amp.

You won’t regret buying it. It’s popular in the audiophile circles I run in if you don’t want to spend a fortune on an amp. I didn’t compare both alternatives, but the “classical” and probably most straightforward way to connect both devices is via Toslink and a Mini Toslink Adapter for the Mac Mini headphone jack. The advantage of this connection method is that you can easily integrate any other Apple device as a music player, e. Not using either – but the rca audio videos are fine – optical or USB could only be better!!

Yes it is. I picked it because a class D amp generates very little heat, and I had to put the amp inside of an enclosed cabinet. I have had it for a year, and I love it.

The speakers are absolutely ruthless when paired with bad gear or source material; this Yamaha, which I admit to being skeptical about, is simply fabulous. This amp. Reminds me of a high end Pre Amp I had in the 90s. It doesn’t have all the unneeded IMO sound modifications like concert, movie theatre mode etc. I have it hooked up to 2 big Cerwin Vega crate speakers from the 90s. And it powers them beautifully. The loudness control is continuously variable not stepped from “flat” to dB. I generally set the loudness to around dB for most tracks.

My floor standing 3 way’s are by no means perfectly flat reference speakers, but it is worth mentioning that in using either CD or USB with amp’s internal DAC as the source on my specific setup, that the speaker output is anything but flat with the loudness set to flat. Very harsh sounding in the 1 Khz – 5 kHz range. Setting the loudness to around dB fixes this on most tracks. Without an RTA to properly analyze the amp’s signal output, I’m very cautious in how much I’d criticize it’s frequency response.

In terms of clarity and noise; I’m satisfied with both at the amp’s price point. Keep in mind with this specific amp, a lot of what you’re paying for is all of the various inputs, internal preamp, and internal DAC not the amp itself. Hope this helps. Hello: Checking into the HS7s specs for a means of bypassing the built-in bi-amp, I can find nothing to help you with doing so. I don’t know what dangers might exist when piggybacking this amp onto these speakers, but I wouldn’t experiment. Yamaha HS7s are active monitors they have built-in power amplification. The A-S does not have preamp outs. You could use the tape outs to feed the monitors, but [ Antonio Dec 02, ]. My guess would be yes.

If they can accommodate amplifier level inputs as some older subwoofers do they might work, but if they don’t my guess would be no I’m really not sure.

I would just call the customer support number and ask them. They were extremely helpful with all my purchases. By the way I love the Yamaha amp. I don’t think so. Due to the HS7 having its own amplifier and doesn’t appear to be defeat able which would make them passive , these speakers would not be compatible. Also, the rear of the HS7 does not show traditional speaker binding posts, which is how the A-S send the audio to connected speakers.

The audioengine B1 Bluetooth hooked up with optical sounds so much better than the cd that I was amazed! I replaced a 20 year old Yamaha integrated amp in the 5 series when I purchased this one. I am a long-time Yamaha customer. That being said I am delighted with this new component. Beautiful smooth sound and imaging has enhanced my collection of music. I have listened to music that I have heard thousands of times and hearing nuances that I never heard before.
