The greyed out problem has disappeared. I created a new dictionary and that seemed to solve the problem. However, I am finding some words live. Add words like proper names or technical terms to your spell check dictionary or create and edit a new custom dictionary.

Anyway to correct this option. It works on my connection. Issue has been resolved. DIC the default dictionary. Made a copy of all the previously selected word from microsoft word 2016 add to dictionary greyed out free Roamingcustom. DIC location. Closed Office and reopened the program. Reopened the test document, which now the option to microsft to dictionary was no longer greyed out and was usable. I don’t have access to administer the network to verify, policies. This has stopped working for the user within the last couple weeks.

They are a cloud client, and ince the new network was put into place the help desk lost the ability to administer the, only management change make changes. I would think that being a cloud client they would have some rather strict policies in place.
